Armenia and Myanmar Established Diplomatic Relations

On January 31, 2013, Permanent Representatives of Armenia and Myanmar to the United Nations Garen Nazarian and Kyaw Tin signed a Joint Communiqué on Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

 
During the signing ceremony, that took place at the premises of the Permanent Mission of Armenia to the UN, Ambassadors highlighted the importance of developing bilateral relations and promoting collaboration within the United Nations and international organizations. The parties discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the areas of education, culture, as well as tourism. They also made a reference to the Armenian community established in Myanmar centuries ago.
