Armenia co-sponsored UN Security Council Arria Formula Meeting entitled “Harnessing safe, inclusive, trustworthy Artificial Intelligence for the maintenance of international peace and security”

On 4 April, the Delegation of Armenia co-sponsored UN Security Council Arria Formula Meeting entitled “Harnessing safe, inclusive, trustworthy Artificial Intelligence for the maintenance of international peace and security” organized by the Delegations of Greece, France and the Republic of Korea.

At the meeting the delegation of Armenia emphasized that the advancement of AI capabilities should be regulated in strict adherence to international legal instruments to mitigate the risks associated with the potential misuse of AI. Reaffirmed that international humanitarian law and international human rights law are fully applicable to the use of all weapon systems including those incorporating AI and autonomous technologies. The necessity of maintaining human responsibility and accountability for the use of AI applications in the military domain were highlighted.
