The UN General Assembly adopted a consensus decision to grant Armenia a full membership to the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).

Prior that decision, Azerbaijan has been actively lobbing against Armenia’s membership within the UN relevant bodies. However, due to the diplomatic negotiations and consistent efforts by the Armenian side, on December 18, 2012 the UN General Assembly decided to appoint Armenia together with Costa Rica and Jordan as full-fledged members of the Committee.

This decision sends another message by the international community to Azerbaijani leadership that all its attempts to isolate Armenia are doomed to fail.
