On March 16, 2012 Permanent Representatives of Armenia and Tuvalu , Ambassador Garen Nazarian and Ambassador Falema Pita, signed a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries.

The signing ceremony took place at the Permanent Mission of Armenia to the United Nations. The ceremony was followed by a meeting between the delegations of two countries, during which they recognized significance of stimulating bilateral cooperation and agreed to activate the dialogue within the framework of UN and other international organizations.
