Armenian Independence Day Celebrated in New York and Ney Jersey

Events celebrating Armenia’s 22nd Independence Day have been held in New York and New Jersey under the auspices of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Armenia to United Nations and the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America and with the support of community organizations. The Message of the Catholicos of All Armenians on Armenian Independence Day was solemnly conveyed at the St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral.

Addressing the audience of the events Garen Nazarian, Armenia’s Ambassador to the United Nations, highlighted the importance of the youth participation in the celebration of this cherished day for the Motherland and efforts towards promoting Armenian identity and heritage in the Diaspora aimed at further strengthening the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora strong bonds and unity.

On September 21, 2013, for the first time the Permanent Mission of Armenia and the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church with the participation of several dozen of young people have organized bike ride which claims to have its standing among good traditions of the annual celebration of Armenia’s Independence Day in the US East Coast.
