On 5 April, in New York, at the elections held in the UN Economic and Social Council, Armenia was elected to the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) for the term of 2024-2026.

Following secret ballot, Armenia was elected in competitive elections for the seats allocated to the regional group of Eastern European States.

The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice acts as the principal policymaking body of the United Nations in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice. The CCPCJ offers Member States a forum to identify priorities for combating crime.

At the same meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council, Armenia was also elected to the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) for the term of 2024-2027.
